Filipino American History Month Townhall

October 15, 2020 @ 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

UniPro Chicago will be hosting a Town Hall event, during Filipino American History Month (FAHM), on Thursday, October 15th, 2020 at 6:00pm CDT.
Our non-profit organization wants to have a space for discussion where there is a chance to
-Highlight the work being done by and meet other Filpin/o/a/x American Chicago leaders and community members
-Identify why community and civic engagement is important for our Filipino/a/x American Chicago community
-Dialogue about current/prevalent topics to the Chicago community as a whole
-Discuss what action steps can we take as a Chicago community and what resources can we share to support each other and our communities
The preliminary topics of discussion are as follows:
Allyship/Education/History (addressing anti-Blackness and anti-Indigeneity)
Health (Physical, Mental Health, etc.)
Unemployment & Housing
The November 2020 Presidential Election, Census and Civic Engagement
UniPro Chicago would like to request your organization’s presence to engage in the aforementioned topics listed above in a brave space for continued dialogue and discussion.
Please try to read through our pre-meeting notes https://docs.google.com/…/1GJUtH2PqrSjEh0ccvxwE…/edit… You will find how the town hall will be conducted and some research done on each topic that may help you form your thoughts as you enter this townhall.
