Born in Nepal, Rajan Shahi embarked on a remarkable journey that would see him not only traverse continents but also touch the lives of countless individuals through his unwavering dedication to service and community empowerment.
In 2009, Rajan Shahi made the courageous decision to immigrate to the United States, driven by a deep desire to pursue a better future for himself and his loved ones. Little did he know that this journey would lead him to become a beacon of hope for many others.
In 2010, Rajan joined the Chinese Mutual Aid Association, a social services non-profit agency, as a Citizenship Coordinator. Here, he found his calling – to assist and uplift those in need, particularly immigrants like himself, navigating the complexities of their new homeland. His passion for helping others shone through in every interaction, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
Over the course of 14 years and counting, Rajan’s impact has been nothing short of transformative. Through his tireless efforts, he has helped countless individuals achieve their dreams of citizenship, providing them with the tools and support they need to thrive in their
adopted country.
But Rajan’s dedication to service extends far beyond his role as Citizenship Coordinator. In his current position as Director of Finance at the Chinese Mutual Aid Association, he continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s mission and vision, ensuring that it remains a
steadfast advocate for the community it serves.
In addition to his work at the Chinese Mutual Aid Association, Rajan is actively involved in several other community initiatives. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Uptown Chamber of Commerce and the Grow Your Own Teachers, he lends his expertise as Board Treasurer, helping to steer these organizations towards greater success and impact.
Yet perhaps one of Rajan’s most profound contributions is the founding of Nepalese Aid in 2022. Driven by a deep sense of duty to his community, Rajan established this non-profit organization to provide much-needed support and resources to his fellow Nepalese immigrants. With the help of few other passionate board members and help and support of wife and two beautiful daughters, Nepalese Aid has quickly become a beacon of hope, offering assistance to those facing the challenges of resettlement and integration.
